General Terms & Conditions
The tour operator is Adventure Roads Ltd, 299A Bethnal Green Road, London E2 6AH (known as Moto Tours Europe or MTE for the purpose of these Terms and Conditions). By signing the booking form, you accept our General Terms and Conditions. Booking is considered valid when the booking form is signed and submitted together with the proof of payment of the booking deposit to MTE via email (info@mototourseurope.com). Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully.
A deposit of 250 Euro per person is required at the time of booking. This deposit secures your place on the tour and will be deducted from the total price of the tour at the moment of booking. Each tour has a limited number of participants and we reserve their places on tours based on the order of receiving their applications. MTE provides a support van for the luggage and 1 or 2 passengers as part of the tour package for guided tours with minimum 4 motorcycles and 8 participants.
The payment of the total price of the tour (balance) is required 60 days prior to the start of the tour. If the total balance is not received 60 days prior to the start of the tour, MTE reserves the right to cancel the reservation and keep the deposit. MTE reserve the right to change the prices of the tour up to 60 days before the tour.
Each participant is required to sign a waiver of rights / release of liability agreement before the beginning of the tour, otherwise MTE will not be able to accept them.
MTE is responsible for providing the services listed in the tour descriptions according to the local standards, however due to any situations beyond its control (such as road work, hotel closures, weather, inability of the rider to ride the planned route or not having or achieving demanded motorcycle riding knowledge and skills necessary for the tour or any other force majeure), MTE reserves the right to withdraw any part or all of a tour or to make such changes as may be necessary without prior notice, and the extra cost, if applicable, shall be paid by the customer. It is agreed and understood that the Owners, Operators and Agents of this tour, including MTE, are not the guardians of the participant's safety and they cannot be held liable in any way for any occurrence relating to any activity in connection with the tour which might result in injury, death or other damage to the participant, their property, their family or heirs. MTE is not responsible for any damage caused to third parties due to the participant’s activities during the tour.
MTE is not responsible for any delays or changes in schedule or other conditions. MTE is not responsible or liable for a delay occurring due to the manufacturer’s failure to deliver the motorcycles on time. MTE is not responsible for any items being lost or stolen in the course of the tour or at the stopover locations or support vehicles. It is recommended not to keep any personal valuables or documents in the luggage transported by the support van. The liability of MTE is limited to the total price of the tour irrespective of the title/claim.
MTE staff, agents, sales representatives and tour guides are representing the Company, but do not represent a party to this contract. MTE shall not be held responsible or liable for any behaviour of its representatives and staff which is contrary to the instructions provided by the employer (MTE) and resulting in failure to provide any service as may be described in our literature or pertaining to the contract.
The tour participants are obliged to comply with traffic laws. If any participant fails to comply with traffic laws, MTE reserves the right to revoke their contract and take away their rented motorcycle. The participant is responsible for all traffic tickets received during the tour. A service charge will apply for all unpaid tickets. The participants agree not to cause any damage to natural surroundings or to any third parties through their actions while riding their motorcycles, nor to consume alcohol, narcotic drugs or any kinds of opiates during the use of motorcycles. In case the participant fails to comply with the rules, endangers others or causes them to feel threatened by their actions, MTE reserves the right to revoke the contract of such a participant and exclude them from the tour. Every participant needs a valid motorcycle license to take part in the tour. The participant is responsible for complying with the passport and visa regulations, posess a valid drivers licence for riding a motorcycle as well as International Driving Permit and takes responsibility for any consequences resulting from non-compliance.
If the participant is travelling solo, we will try to find a suitable roommate for him, if so requested. In the case of inability to make such an arrangement, a single occupancy supplement will be charged.
The participant is fully aware of the risks and dangers involved in the outdoor activities like swimming, white water rafting, rock climbing or any other activity potentially suggested as a supplemental activity to the tour and accepts full liability.
Fares quoted by MTE, its agents or publications are those in effect at the time of printing. On rare occasions, due to situations beyond our control, MTE reserves the right to change the tour prices at any time prior to 60 days before the departure. MTE reserves the right to correct printing errors or calculation mistakes at any time. Discounts offered by MTE cannot be combined with other existing discounts.
MTE recommends that guests take out adequate travel, health and accident insurance as well as trip cancellation insurance.
Photos and videos produced by MTE are the property of MTE. The copyrights rest with MTE. MTE can use all such material for advertising and marketing purposes, including images in which participants can be recognized, without any charge from the participant. Participants who submit photos to MTE agree to allow the use of such photos by MTE for advertising and marketing purposes.
MTE assumes no responsibility for loss, damage or delay in delivering baggage to the tour participants. The baggage is turned over to MTE for transport each day of the tour at the participant's own risk. Baggage insurance is recommended.
MTE makes its best effort to schedule the tours at a time when the weather is pleasant for motorcycling. Many tours pass through the areas where weather conditions could change. MTE reserves the right to change the route in case the weather conditions, road conditions, safety conditions or any other conditions that may arise and influence the safety or timing of the tour. MTE is not liable for unpleasant weather conditions and no refunds will be made for such conditions.
Please make sure to let us know about any special dietary requirements.
Motorcycles
MTE provides motorcycles as part of the tour package. The pictures of the motorcycles in literature or on this website do not always represent the exact version of the motorcycles provided. Please email or call if you need specific or customization information on the exact motorcycle versions. MTE reserves the right to substitute a motorcycle confirmed to a participant but will make every effort to contact the participant prior to any substitution. MTE shall make every effort to provide the renter the requested motorcycle model; however, it reserves the right to replace it with a comparable model in case of uncontrollable situations. These include, but are not limited to, technical defect, damage due to an accident, theft or a similar incident. MTE is not responsible or liable for a delay occurring from the manufacturer's failure to deliver the motorcycles on time. If MTE is unable to provide a comparable model, a prorated refund for the difference in models' rental rates, if any, will be refunded to the renter. MTE will endeavor to contact the renter prior to any substitution.
All our motorcycles are insured with the Third-party liability insurance and Comprehensive vehicle insurance. The rental period is not interrupted due to damage to the motorcycle or the inability of the participant to ride the motorcycle. During the rental period, MTE is not obliged to replace a damaged motorcycle. If a participant provides his own motorcycle, no tour insurance will be provided by MTE.
A security deposit of 2000 Euro must be paid to MTE at the beginning of the motorcycle rental period. The deposit will be held until the undamaged motorcycle is returned in acceptable condition.
MTE offers two insurance options, 'VIP insurance' and 'Super VIP Insurance'.
In case of ‘VIP Insurance’ (for a fixed fee of 25 EUR per day), security deposit (deductible) is lowered to 500 Euro and must be paid to MTE at the beginning of the motorcycle rental period. The deposit will be held until the undamaged motorcycle is returned in acceptable condition. Optionally, in case of ‘Super VIP Insurance’ (for a fixed fee of 35 EUR per day), security deposit (deductible) is lowered to zero. Vip and Super Vip Insurances are available for tours and rentals of 7 days or more.
In case of the severe damage to the motorcycle, that makes motorcycle not suitable for riding or in case of multiple damages on more sides of the vehicle within the same tour or rental the insurance refuses to cover the costs and the renter is fully liable for repair costs, recovery and return transport costs, costs for experts, any reduction in technical and market value.
In case of renting a motorcycle from MTE that is not related to guided or self-guided tours, a booking deposit for the rental is required at the time of booking. The deposit secures your bike rental. It equals 30% of the expected cost of renting or a minimum of 150 Euro. After the deposit is received, your reservation becomes final. If the participant fails to send a reservation deposit, MTE may cancel the reservation at any time. The balance for rentals must be paid at least 30 days prior to the start of the rental period. If the cancellation of rental (total or partial) is received more than 30 days prior to the start of the rental period, 50 % of the deposit will be returned; from 30-15 days prior to the start of the rental period 50 % of the full rental amount will be returned, 15 days or less prior to the start of the rental period 0 % of the full rental amount will be returned. Modification of an existing rental reservation can be made free of charge if claimed at least 21 days before the commencement of the rental, otherwise a surcharge may apply.
A Hirer will receive a motorcycle with a full tank of fuel and will be responsible to return the motorcycle with a full tank of fuel. If the hirer fails to return the motorcycle with a full tank, they will be subject to a refuelling charge.
The Hirer shall use the motorcycle with due care and attention, observe the appropriate technical codes of practice and operating instructions, as well as ensure the road safety. The Hirer shall comply with legal requirements, especially with the provisions of road traffic regulations. The Hirer shall be liable to payment of all administrative fees, fines and penalties that are attributed to their use of the rented motorcycle. The renter shall hand over the motorcycle in good working order and in a road-safe condition. The Hirer shall additionally receive the vehicle documents and tools. The Renter shall recognize and accept the existing damage only if it was defined in writing by using the damage form as part of the handover procedure. If, through no fault of the Hirer, a repair is necessary during the rental period in order to ensure operation or maintain roadworthiness of the motorcycle, the Hirer must acquire the Renter's consent before proceeding with the repair. Further claims, irrespective of whatever legal reason, are excluded, unless the damage or loss to the Hirer is attributed to intent or gross negligence on the part of the Renter.
It shall be prohibited for the Hirer to:
- Allow any person other than the authorized persons listed in the rental agreement to use the motorcycle.
- Allow such authorized persons to drive the motorcycle if they are banned from driving or if they do not possess a valid driver's license or are incapable of driving.
- Drive the motorcycle if they themselves are banned from driving or if they do not possess a valid driver's license.
- Use the motorcycle in a condition unsuitable for driving.
- Use the motorcycle in case of being under influence of alcohol, narcotic drugs or any kind of opiates.
- Use the motorcycle for commercial purposes.
- Participate in motorcycle racing events of any kind, including the practice runs pertaining to such events or track days.
- Use the motorcycle off-road.
- Pawn or sell the motorcycle or use the motorcycle or its parts, equipment, accessories and documents in any way that could infringe the rights of ownership of the Renter or infringe any other rights of the Renter concerning the motorcycle.
In case of damage or loss, as well as in the event of an accident, the Hirer shall be obliged to notify the Renter immediately by telephone. Towing and/or repair services are to be used only after obtaining the consent of MTE. The police must be notified immediately in the event of an accident. Evidence (witnesses, track marks, etc.) are to be secured, the personal data of those involved recorded and everything must be done to ensure the correct and complete clarification of the sequence of events.
The Hirer agrees to assume financial responsibility up to the amount of their chosen insurance option in case of damage to the motorcycle. The Hirer is expressly reminded that, despite the fully comprehensive liability insurance, they are still liable for damage in the following cases:
- If they fail to comply with the provisions of the contractual agreement.
- Leave the site of an accident they were involved in.
- Cause damage intentionally, deliberately or through gross negligence.
- Exceed the agreed rental period contrary to the terms of the agreement
Regardless the insurance, the renter is fully liable:
- For any damage to the motorcycle caused by the renter or any other driver under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other substances, which impair the ability to drive.
- For any damage caused intentionally or due to gross negligence.
- For any damage if the driver did not hold a valid driver license when the damage occurred.
- For any damage if the driver escapes from the place of accident.
- For any damage caused by operating the motorcycle by an unauthorized driver.
- For lost or damaged GPS unit (if the GPS unit was rented together with the motorcycle).
- For transfer of the damaged motorcycle back to the rental location.
- For lost documentation of motorcycle the renter shall pay 80 EUR.
- For lost keys of the motorcyle the renter shall pay 200 EUR
The motorcycle shall be returned without any externally visible deficiencies. The Hirer shall return the motorcycle in the same condition at the end of the rental period at the agreed place and time with all the accompanying documents, tools and accessories. The Renter shall be entitled to without prior notice in case of a compelling reason that would render continuation of the rental agreement unacceptable. The compelling reasons especially include incorrect personal data of the Hirer, incorrect information on credit worthiness as well as serious infringement of the provisions of the contractual agreement. In the event of rescission without prior notice, the rented motorcycle must be returned immediately, i.e. before the agreed rental period has expired. The Renter's right to claim for damages and compensation shall remain unaffected.
The Hirer agrees to assume financial responsibility for all traffic infractions incurred on their rented motorcycle for the duration of their rental period. The renter shall observe driving and road traffic regulations and is responsible for all traffic tickets received during the rental. A service charge in amount of 50 EUR will apply for all unpaid tickets.
Motorcycle Damage
The renter is liable for all the damage to the rented motorcycle, documents, parts and accessories, that occur during the rental period. This includes, but is not limited to, theft or loss, damage due to an accident or operational damage, damage as the result of improper use and damage that reduces the value of the motorcycle. The term "damage" is to exclude reasonable wear and tear. Minor blemishes of paint chips from gravel, stones, and insects are considered normal wear and tear. Damage of scratches caused by an accident, dropping a motorcycle or riding a motorcycle through bushes and off road is not considered normal wear and tear.
The renter is obliged to inform MTE without delay of any damage caused to the rented motorcycle and to follow the MTE instructions for further actions. In case of damage to the rented motorcycle, the renter is liable for repair costs, recovery and return costs, costs for experts, any reduction in technical and market value.
If MTE has to transport the motorcycle back to its premises due to a damage for which the renter is responsible, the MTE reserves the right to invoice the renter for recovering the motorcycle.
Own Motorcycle
A customer who participates in MTE tours with his/her own vehicle is responsible for guaranteeing the state of said vehicle, which conforms to the law, and a perfect technical condition. The customer shall be obliged to reimburse MTE for any damage that might be caused due to failure to comply with this state. The customer shall bear any costs additionally incurred (e.g. for recovering a vehicle, for remedying technical defects, etc.). In case of damage or malfunction of the motorcycle during the tour, MTE is not responsible for handling the occured event nor is obliged to change of influence the tour plan, route or pace of the tour. The own motorcycle participance to the tour is possible upon the request and in case there are spots available for own motorcycles that are not a part of a tour package. The separate rental of another rental company or the separate rental versus tour package is not possible.
MTE does not offer any vehicle insurance to customers who participate on a tour with their own motorcycle. The fuel costs or any other costs related to the own motorcycle or other costs apart from accommodation are not included to the tour package.
Passport, Visa, Driving License and International Driving License
The customer undertakes to possess valid documents, which are required in order to participate in the tour: a passport, at least valid until 6 months after the end of the tour, a visa (where necessary), a national driving license and an international driving license (where necessary).
The customer is responsible for complying with passport and visa regulations of the respective visiting countries and takes full responsibility for consequences resulting from his/her non-compliance.
By completing the booking, the customer declares to possess a valid driving license for the duration of the tour and for the vehicle used in the tour. The customer shall inform MTE without delay of any and all changes regarding his driving license which have an influence on tour participation (e.g. revocation of the driving license, etc.). If it turns out after the booking and before or during the tour that the customer does not have a valid driving license, MTE shall be released from its obligation to continue to fulfil the contract by invoicing the cancellation rates indicated in these terms and conditions. In this case MTE reserves the right to not provide the motorcycle and to exclude the customer from participating in the tour. MTE shall not be obliged to reimburse paid services of any kind and shall not be liable for any additional costs which may be incurred by the customer due to this circumstance.
All non-European citizens are required to have an International driving licence to drive in the European countries.
Tour Cancellation
In case of a customer cancelling their booking after confirmation, MTE reserves the right to withhold the deposit/tour charge in the amount of the costs incurred. The cancellation fee is as follows:

No exception to this policy can be made for any reason. Trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended.
Up to two weeks prior to the beginning of the tour, MTE can cancel the tour in case of insufficient number participants for the respective tour. In this case, the customer will be notified as soon as possible, and MTE will offer to operate the tour if all participants agree to a supplemental charge due to the low number of tour members. If the participants do not accept to pay the supplemental charge, MTE will refund their deposits and payments in full, which constitutes the full settlement. MTE is not liable for any additional costs or losses incurred by the participant (for example the cost of pre-paid airline tickets, hotel reservations etc.) due to the cancellation of the tour caused by the lack of participants. Situations beyond our control may arise which make it necessary for us to reschedule or cancel a tour, change itineraries or make substitutions concerning hotels, routes, guides and other travel arrangements. We do not assume responsibility or liability for any resulting losses, expenses or inconvenience to the participants. MTE is not required to make refunds once the tour commences, regardless of the reason for the participant's inability to complete his tour.
Liability
MTE will not be held liable in case the tour cannot take place or must be interrupted or ended for reasons beyond the control of MTE or its contractors or customers, as well as in the case of force majeure such as riots, floods, earthquakes, strikes, etc.
The participants in a motorcycle rental or motorcycle tour are fully aware of the risks and dangers involved and accept full liability. It is agreed and understood that the owners, operators and agents of this rental and tours, including MTE are not the guardians of any customer's safety and they, individually or collectively, cannot be held liable in any way for any occurrence in connection with the operation or the client's participation in connection with the rental or tour, which might result in injury, death, or other damage or any costs occured to the client, his property, or his family, heirs, or assigns.
MTE is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal objects left behind on the motorcycle or its cases during the rental period or after it.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us and our affiliates, officers, employees, agents, partners and licensors harmless from any losses, costs, liabilities and expenses relating to or arising out of: (a) your violation of the Terms; or (c) your violation of any applicable laws, rules or regulations or any other event occured during the tour or rental.
All disputes will try to be resolved quickly and efficiently.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and you can only bring legal proceedings in respect of the Services in the courts of England and Wales.
